Wonderful Book (Cute Series)
This is a wonderful book for young children. Wonderful illustrations as well as simple words and sentences for toddlers and early readers. My 3 year old loves to have any of the books in this series read to him. He especially loves it when his 7 year old cousin reads them to him.

Pooh's Wishing Star
The book, Pooh's Wishing Star. THis book was a great book! I believe. I liked how it had a wishing star in it. One time Pooh took all of his friend's up to the hill so they could make a wish. I liked how he thought of his friend's like that. Like how he wanted his friend's to be happy. So when little kids read this book they will learn that you should care about other peoples feelings. I hope you get the chance to read this awesome book. Your kids will learn a valuable lesson.

The Power of the Bear: Paintings by Susan Seddon Boulet
Published in Hardcover by Pomegranate (January, 2000)
Authors: Michael Babcock and Susan Seddon Boulet
Average review score:

A beautiful memorial
This book is intended as a memorial to the artist, Susan Seddon Boulet, who died in 1997. The author selected Boulet's powerful paintings of bears as symbolic of her life and spirit.

There are 43 paintings and drawings of bears representing a fine cross-section of Boulet's work. These are integrated with a complete biography, career history and analysis of the individual paintings.

Boulet's bears are nurturing, protective, healing and powerful, never violent. They reflect the bear's place in the Shamanic and native cultures upon which her art is based. The paintings are beautiful and emotional.

I have long admired and enjoyed Boulet's art and this is my favorite book on her work. I love the paintings and the messages of peace and hope they convey.

A Primer of Lebesgue Integration
Published in Hardcover by Academic Press (February, 1995)
Author: Herbert S. Bear
Average review score:

The First Book to Read on Lebesgue Measure!
This book is exactly what it is advertised to be: an introduction to the Lebesgue measure and Lebesgue integral which will give the reader a solid foundation in the subject. I would recommend it to anyone as the first book to read on the subject, and it is particularly well suited for self study.

For the self-study student, there's one small flaw in the book about which it is worth a note. In Problem_5 on page 5, in the review of the Riemann integral, the student is asked to prove that for a Riemann integrable function the upper and lower bounding functions converge to the function being integrated at all but a _countable_ set of points. As a counter example, consider a function which is 0 everywhere except on the Cantor set, on which it is 1. For any sequence of partitions, consider the (uncountable) set of points in the Cantor set less the (countable) set of points which are endpoints of the partitions. This is a minor point, and more importantly note that the result is true if "a countable set of points" is replaced with "a set of measure zero." Results like this are why the concept of measure is considered so powerful.

MY DAUGHTER LOVES IT!
This little board book is a favorite of my daughter. It is glittery and has cut-outs that she loves to touch. She's only 14 months and she loves for me to read it over and over. It may be a bit corny for the feminist moms, but I think it's precious.

Profiting In Bull or Bear Markets
Published in Hardcover by McGraw-Hill Trade (20 February, 2001)
Author: George Dagnino
Average review score:

Excellent read. Very well structured and organized.
I have read several books regarding the stock market, charting and so forth that pretty much left much to be desired. And after the stock market fiasco of 2000 - 2001 where virtually everyone's equity evaporated, many people were left asking themselves, what happened? George Dagnino's book explains the concepts of the business cycle and how all economic factors correlate together. It gives you a clear outlook on how to anticipate market trends, keep an eye on indicators and protect your investment.

Overall, probably THE best book I have ever read on the economy and the stock market.

A SET OF BOOKS YOUR CHILDREN WILL REMEMBER FOREVER
The Reading Together at Home series is an excellent way to start a strong foundation in literacy and learning in any home. From the six books included, children can pick their favorites. This has helped me figure out what kinds of books my 3 and 2 yr.olds like best. Sometimes the books mommy likes best are not always the ones the kids like best. This way we can all be happy. I know they are picking from a quality set designed to build pre-reading skills.
